What If God Was One of Us?

"What Do You Believe Is True Even Though You Cannot Prove It?" is the world question that Edge magazine poses to great thinkers at the beginning of 2005. The answers range from from faith in Darwin to belief in true love, illustrating that reasonable people can disagree. The New York Times takes excerpts from the wide range of answers in an article entitled "God (or Not), Physics and, of Course, Love: Scientists Take a Leap". It has been one of my bugaboos, with recent encounters in the bioethics community, is that there has been surge of intolerance in discussions; it creates a paradox: How does one tolerate intolerance? -- Linda Glenn
